Den här bloggen har jag missat. Nu bläddrar jag och hittar massor av inspiration.
When I first saw this, I had to fight the instinct to put a stop to it. In a flash, I’d done my adult risk assessment:
Plastic trucks not designed to be sat upon, especially by these large 5-year-old bodies
Concrete slope
Short runway with a raised planting bed made of wood at the bottom
Even if these competent kids could manage it, their success might lure less competent friends to try it
Tender flesh and precious heads
I Islington har politikerna skrivit barns rätt att träna sin riskbedömningsförmågal.
Children in Islington will have more opportunities to run, jump, swing and climb in unique play spaces that challenge them, thanks to a new commitment from Islington Council.
Islington is the first local authority in England to adopt a policy that will ensure that children experience and learn about risk through play, while also being protected from unacceptable harm.
The move by Islington Council follows calls from national play organisations, the Government and the Health and Safety Executive for children to not be ‘wrapped in cotton wool’.
